La Quinta Inn and Suites – Pet Friendly Hotels

Since we’ve been back in the states, we’ve been on quite a few road trips – either traveling to see friends and family or to just have a bit of a vacation. We have become huge fans of La Quinta Inn and Suites. Now, I know what you are thinking – it is what I expected too – small, grungy motels. But not so anymore! In the past few years, La Quinta has really made an effort to modernize its existing hotels, whilst also building new hotels all over the country.

Our favorite thing about La Quinta though is that small dogs are allowed – for free! We’re used to paying anywhere from $10-$50 a night for a pet-friendly room so having a place to stay where Bodie is free is a huge plus. Not to mention that high speed internet and breakfast are also free, and each room comes with a microwave and mini-fridge. We’ve also stayed in a La Quinta that had a nightly manager’s reception with complimentary wine, beer and snacks (ok, so it was Bud and cheap wine – so we skipped it – but it was nice that they offered it!). And we’ve even gotten free cookies and bottled water for being members of their rewards program!

Perhaps its because our road trips in Europe were often plagued by not finding pet-friendly accommodations so easily that we’ve come to love La Quinta. And it’s affordable  - the usual cost is $79-$109 per night. Our newly renovated suite in downtown New Orleans – just a couple blocks from Bourbon Street, Harrah’s Casino and the pier, was only $99/night!
